Individual-psychological factors of spiritual development of personality
Abstract
The article describes concepts of spirituality and spiritual development of a person. Individual-psychological factors of spiritual development, such as: level of satisfaction of basic needs, structure of life values and system of life senses have been analyzed and justified. The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the individual-psychological factors of the spiritual development of personality. The main approaches to understanding the concept of spirituality and spiritual development have been analyzed. The author’s interpretation of the designated concepts has been proposed. Needs, life values and personal senses, which are considered as categories of individual-psychological factors of the spiritual development of personality, have been theoretically analyzed. These categories have been characterized by objectivity and versatility manifestation in personal development. Personal needs are the motive force, which stimulates development and activity. The necessary condition of productive functioning of higher needs (the most important of which is the need for self-actualization) is the satisfaction of lower needs. The author analyzed different scientific perspectives of values and senses investigation. Scientists consider, that the system of values is the most significant, because it can be corrected and transformed by factors of macro- and microenvironment, education, self-education. It also forms subsequent personal development and affects the system of senses, acts, character and life scenario. The fact that predominant life senses and their hierarchy affect the human needs, motives, values and acts is stressed. In the article, the author describes the main individual-psychological factors of spiritual development of personality, justifies its part in the process of spiritual development, and analyses the main approaches to its understanding within the existing scientific paradigm.
