Scientific approaches to understanding the essence of modern methodology of science

Abstract

The article describes the current state of the formation of global science and, as a result, the need to develop a unified theory of methodology of science. There is weak scientific interest in developing the content of the subject of the methodology of science. Today, methodology is not the main science. A high level of informatization of modern society is necessitates the formation of a unified methodology of science. Insufficient development of the methodology is influenced by its relationship with philosophy. The publication notes the role of philosophy in the development of methodology as a separate science. The points of view of modern domestic and foreign researchers which reveal the content and subject of methodology have been presented. A conceptual analysis of the essence of the methodology has been carried out. In modern science, descriptive approach over analytic prevails. Among the analyzed scientific approaches is the lack of a meaningful description of the methodology. A significant number of interpretations of the essence of the methodology is due to the change of modern society. In the article, the methodology is considered as a science of the organization of activities. A theoretical analysis of the methodology of science through the category of activity is carried out. Two main types of activity are described: productive and reproductive. The methodology is considered as a productive activity. The logical structure of activity, its parameters and characteristics are indicated. Further perspectives of development of methodology as a science are determined.
